Mortal Kombat Trilogy
The gameplay is almost exactly the same as Mortal Kombat 3, with only two major changes. An agressor gauge has been added which increases with every attack you do. When filled up, your character's special moves become more powerful, taking off even more damage. A new finishing move has also been added. Called Brutalities, they are Killer Instinct style combos which end with your character uppercuting your opponent, causing him to explode. While these new features are inventive, they add little improvement to the depth of the game.

YuGiOh Forbidden Memories
Forbidden Memories is the newly released PlayStation adaptation of Kazuki Takahashi's popular Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, whose roots lie in manga and the extremely popular animated series of the same name. In the tradition of other card-game-to-video-game translations, Forbidden Memories features a relatively smooth card battling and deck building interface, which, in combination with the animated 3D battles, should appeal to fans of the series. Players who are new to Yu-Gi-Oh! should be prepared for quite a bit of work, however, to get the most out of this game.

Driver 2
Driver 2 takes gamers into the realm of sleazy, back street Mafia-infested world, and puts you in the role of Tanner, an undercover cop who has a knack for driving and getting out of tight situations. Continuing on the theme of '70s style car chases born from movies such as Bullitt and TV shows such as Starsky and Hutch, Reflections' Driver and Driver 2 sets players down in the driver seats of heavy, American sedans, generally seated with 8-cylinder engines, and the classic inability to turn without sliding.

Final Fantasy Origins
Easily the most improved game in the series, the new Final Fantasy is still the most basic. A simple tale of four legendary warriors out to unite the four magical crystals while kicking major enemy ass, FF1 definitely shows its roots in the 8-bit era. Active Time Battle systems, the ability to steal, or even an abundance of dialogue is seriously lacking here, and when compared to the first 16-bit game in the series (Final Fantasy IV), the design is a bit archaic. What Final Fantasy I does have, though, is an abundance of old-school exploration and level building with updated visuals and MIDI-quality music. It may not sound like much to get excited about at first, but once you sit down to play it, one will quickly realize why this game sold so many copies in the first place -- it's addictively fun.
